One of my first projects as the director of the Center for Creative Exploration (CCE) was to partner with one of my favorite organizations, The Lancaster Science Factory, to host an event for the community that encouraged creativity and experimentation. On March 6, 2020 we co-hosted a scribble bot competition. We invited any kids and adults to join our team of master builders and artists from The Lancaster Science Factory and Pennsylvania College of Art & Design at PCA&D for our Art Bot Throwdown. We taught participants how to make scribble bots, then allow their bots to scribble a random piece that they could then use to add drawing, painting or collage to in order to create a masterpiece with with their robot friend. They could enter their bot and their artwork to compete for trophies for "Best Art Bot" and "Best Human-Robot Art." This event was free to attend but $5 if you wished to keep your bot motor and batteries.

It was infamous as one of the last engagements to take place on campus before the COVID-19 shut down, but it was also the start of a new era of partnerships for CCE.
